Description

Players take on heroes tied to the Icons, thirteen archetypal figures of power in a default setting that is meant to be reshaped at the table. The Game Master (GM) runs a story in which the characters' backgrounds and personal ties to the Icons drive the plot as much as the monsters do. Play favors big fights and big gestures over careful dungeon bookkeeping. The game asks a table to be loose with the setting. Players write their own history and invent a trait that has no rules attached, and the GM is expected to fold those into the story. It suits groups who like crunchy d20 combat but would rather invent than look things up.

The storyteller Narrative minimalist
Let’s go on an adventure together! I'm looking for a free, cooperative, consent-based, story-focused TTRPG table. I enjoy character-driven games with party relationships, meaningful combat, exploration, mystery, downtime, and earned emotional moments. Ideal balance: about 40% roleplay, 20% combat, 40% exploration. I like sincere games with humor, but not constant bits, edgelord behavior, or main character syndrome. I fit best with players who share spotlight, cooperate, respect boundaries, and care about everyone’s character mattering. Consent and safety are important to me. Heavy themes, PvP, romance/flirting, sexual content, intense character conflict, or major effects on another PC should be discussed first. Lines and veils should be respected. I’m in Hawaiʻi Time / UTC-10. Weekends are best, and I prefer 2–3 hour sessions. I’m open to voice, PBP, or hybrid formats. Not a good fit for bigotry, disruptive rules-lawyering, non-cooperative play, unconsented PvP/romance/sexual content, trauma dumping, or using RPGs as therapy. Message me on Discord; I’m more responsive there. Please say you saw my Groupfinder post and send a short game pitch. Discord: goldaline

Hello, I've been playing TTRPGs on and off for about 10 years now. Played with different systems and on different platforms over the years. Don't have a favorite system, willing to learn and try new games (have a preference for fantasy settings). Timezone is CET and should be free on most days of the week in the evening. Thanks.

The problem solver Mini-campaign fan
Hey there! I'm a 10-year rpg veteran and 7-year forever GM. Most of my playing experience is with 2014 5e, but I've really enjoyed branching out into all sorts of other games. I think I'm at 12 systems GM'd these days, though I'd love the chance to play in more. I run games professionally on Start Playing (startplaying.games/gm/jacob), but also just for fun, usually in unusual systems. I'm broadly free on Sunday-to-Wednesday evenings (GMT), but only my Thursday evenings are absolute non-starters. I enjoy a little bit of everything but definitely lean most strongly towards narrative, intrigue, problem-solving stuff. I'm not a fan of DnD's slow, attritional combat but I'd be interested to see if other games (Draw Steel, 13th Age, etc) handle this better. I'm a big fan of pulpy historical fiction like Bernard Cornwell's, as well as the Wheel of Time, Dragon Age, and Star Wars. Questionnaire results: Problem Solver, Tone chameleon, Balanced player, Focused & prepared, Backstory architect, Mini-campaign fan

enCounter is a free, open-source encounter and initiative manager designed for tabletop RPG game masters. It provides a dedicated DM Console for preparing and running encounters, along with a separate Player Display that can be shown on a second monitor, television, or gaming-table screen. Game masters can track initiative, rounds, hit points, combat status, conditions, resources, hidden enemies, and other encounter information while controlling exactly what players can see. enCounter also supports reusable character and creature libraries, Saved Encounters, Scene and Combat presentation modes, visual countdown timers, encounter backgrounds, portraits, and local Soundscapes with music, ambience, and prepared sound cues. The Player Display can switch between STAND BY, Scene, and Combat modes, allowing it to be used before and during combat. During initiative, the active visible combatant is automatically centered for players, while the DM Console can follow the current turn without interrupting other encounter edits. enCounter supports multiple tabletop RPG system profiles as well as generic TTRPG play. It runs locally on the user's computer, supports Windows and Linux portable releases, and includes local backup, export, and import tools. The project is currently in Alpha and is actively being developed based on real tabletop use and community feedback. enCounter is released under the MIT License and is available free of charge.

Reviews
Fearless Few Gaming is a cinematic tabletop RPG channel built for a new generation of players, those who want to experience games before they ever sit down at the table. Founded by filmmaker and video production professional Will Ezell, the channel blends high end visual storytelling with practical, no nonsense breakdowns of tabletop RPG starter sets, boxed experiences, and complete entry points into the hobby. Every video is designed with a simple goal: remove the friction between curiosity and play. At its core, Fearless Few Gaming answers a question most channels overlook: “If I buy this box...what is it actually like?” A Channel Built Like a Production, Not a Review /images/general-media/1774041361_6040Hs97.png Fearless Few Gaming doesn’t operate like a traditional review channel. It operates like a production studio. Each episode is structured with intentional pacing, visual storytelling, and layered editing designed to mirror the experience of opening, learning, and playing a game in real time. From cinematic box reveals to dice shots and fully themed environments, every visual element reinforces immersion, not just information. This is not just coverage. It’s translation, taking complex systems, dense rulebooks, and intimidating boxes, and turning them into something watchable, and exciting so that you can decide for yourself. The Starter Set Society /images/general-media/1774041350_XQs9giAp.png The flagship series, The Starter Set Society, is the backbone of the channel and its defining identity. Each episode explores a curated starter set or boxed RPG experience and breaks it down through three lenses: - What’s actually inside the box - How the system plays at the table - Whether it delivers a compelling first session The format prioritizes clarity and momentum. Mechanics are explained lightly and cleanly then the focus shifts to experience. How it feels to play, how quickly players engage, and what kind of stories emerge. Episodes are structured to guide viewers from curiosity to confidence in around ten minutes. Designed for Discovery Fearless Few Gaming is built with discoverability in mind, both for viewers and for the games themselves. Each video is optimized to serve as an entry point into the hobby, using clear framing, accessible language, and tightly structured pacing that respects the viewer’s time while delivering real value. The channel actively targets new and returning players searching for the best way to start tabletop RPGs, positioning itself as a trusted first stop in that journey. It doesn’t just serve existing fans, it helps create new ones to keep the hobby thriving. Tone, Style, and Identity The voice of Fearless Few Gaming is confident, cinematic, and grounded. It avoids over explaining, avoids gatekeeping, and avoids the academic tone that often dominates the hobby. Instead, it delivers insight through perspective: what works, what stands out, and what actually matters when the game hits the table. Visually, the channel leans into bold, high contrast presentation with thematic lighting, stylized environments, and deliberate framing choices that elevate tabletop content into something closer to film. The Mission Fearless Few Gaming exists to make tabletop RPGs easier to start, more exciting to explore, and impossible to ignore. By combining professional level production with a deep understanding of what new players actually need, the channel lowers the barrier to entry for one of the most creative hobbies in the world. It doesn’t just review games. It builds the moment where someone decides to play their first one. Links Youtube channel
