The Hollow Hungers
Whether you are a recruit, an adventurer seeking glory, a criminal serving your sentence, or a local hero, you have found yourself at Scalewatch a fortress-city standing against the horrors that crawl from Gnarltongue Hollow. With too few soldiers to defend the border, you and a mismatched band of survivors have been given a forgotten outpost of your own. Build it. Defend it. Make it a home. Hunt the Primals that escape the Hollow, protect the people of Eldorune, and venture into the jungle to document what lies beyond the border. But the Hollow does not give up its secrets easily.
Most who enter never return.
Scalewatch is the last great bastion between civilization and Gnarltongue Hollow, a vast and hostile jungle where strange creatures known as Primals emerge from the depths. With soldiers stretched thin and the border growing more dangerous by the day, you have been given an abandoned outpost and a simple order: hold the line. Build your bastion into something worth defending, protect the people of Eldorune, and hunt whatever makes it past the walls.
But survival requires more than a strong sword arm. Study the Primals you encounter. Examine their bodies, behaviors, and strange adaptations. Document what you learn so others might survive the creatures you face tomorrow. Venture beyond the border into the Hollow itself, where every expedition brings new discoveries and new dangers. The deeper you go, the more questions you will find, and some answers may be better left buried.
Set in the high-fantasy world of Ithyra, The Hollow Hungers takes a more grounded and gritty approach to fantasy, focusing on survival, monster hunting, exploration, and the harsh realities of the frontier. Resources matter. Wounds matter. Your bastion matters. Every expedition carries risks, and every decision can determine who makes it home.
This campaign is for players who enjoy narrative-driven adventures, meaningful choices, monster hunting, exploration, and building something together. My style is heavily narrative and choice-focused. There is rarely one correct answer, and the world will respond to what you do. You will decide what threats to pursue, what discoveries to record, how your bastion develops, who you trust, and how far you are willing to venture into the Hollow.
Build your home. Hold the border. Hunt the monsters. Uncover what lies within.
Most who enter never return.
