Description

Adventurers are mysteriously drawn to the realm of Barovia which is surrounded by deadly mist and ruled by the vampire wizard Strahd von Zarovich. This gothic horror adventure takes the players on a course through Barovia that culminates with a vampire hunt inside Castle Ravenloft. Using a deck of tarokka cards, the Dungeon Master can randomize parts of the adventure such as the identity of a powerful ally, the placement of important magic items across Barovia, and Strahd's location within Castle Ravenloft. This adventure module is designed to take four to six player characters from 1st level to 10th level. [test post - will be removed soon]

TL;DR [One Player Needed - All Welcomed] [homebrew - Viking inspired] [Thursdays 21:30 GMT +2 ] We have one slot available for a 4-player party. You can read below everything about the campaign, its settings, etc, and I can share a lot more lore with whoever gets to the Discord "face-to-face" interview :) Since the campaign launched on YouTube, you can also watch recent episodes to get a sense of the current party vibe and overall style. We keep things balanced, so there are episodes with a lot of fighting and episodes with mostly role-play. Mind - We are all experienced players/DMs but amateurs when it comes to "acting", so don't expect great acting, technical know-how, or CR level game ;) You can find it on YouTube under the name: The Chronicles of Alver - https://www.youtube.com/@ChroniclesofAlver I will add that I'm looking for people with the ability to take charge and initiate role play and conversations - I want you to feel like you're in the world and try your best to "live" in it :) Lastly, everyone is welcome to try - I don't care about your race, sexual orientation, or favorite blanket as a child. Be kind and friendly to the rest of the party, and you'll fit right in :) Click the link to apply: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIeo4QAfbIuDVafQxzwxbnO4WD9GxjzJyPEBvs4x5R9SeiWg/viewform?usp=header ******************* Hey everyone! This post will be long as I want to give you a lot of information, so bear with me :) Index: About me About the campaign About the world Closing words About me: I'm an experienced DM (over 9 years). I would like to have five players for the campaign. You don't need to be a veteran, but I prefer some experience. The campaign is my homebrew world, which I created for a fantasy book I'm writing (and have been for several long years). I'm the head of a creative studio in an AAA-related gaming company. I'm a fantasy lover, a medieval history buff, and a martial artist, so if it has capes, I'm in! I'm a married father of three with a dog (so technically four as she's very much a daughter to me). I generally love dad jokes and word puns. I always mean my puns! About the campaign: We'll be using 5e with many homebrew elements. All the races and lore are homebrew, but for ease of use, they will all be based on edited versions of "normal" races (and all will be added to D&D Beyond). The party is currently at level 7. This will strike a balance between action and role-play. You will have a lot of weight on the story and direction. Everything goes - as long as it's realistic within the logic and magic of the world. Please let me know what you'd like to try, and we'll see how to make it happen. Death is final. Mostly. If your character dies, it'll be rare to bring them back. But you can always roll a new character. My goal is for you to enjoy the game and story. I don't want to kill your characters. I aim to provide you with a challenge, an engaging story, and a fun and immersive experience. Weekly sessions are held on Thursdays, most often (unless too many people are unable to join, in which case we'll try to find an alternative day for that week). Sessions start at 21:30 +3 GMT (18:30 UTC) and are usually two and a half hours long. We're doing video chat via the Riverside website (also for recording). I believe seeing our faces and expressions helps connect us, so I want people who are not camera-shy. No one cares how you look, what your race or color is, or whatever - be yourself (and your character), and that's great! D&D Beyond + Foundry for combat + Discord (for text chats). YouTube/Podcast - I record our sessions and post them on the campaign's YouTube channel, and may also stream them live later. I'm not delusional in thinking we'll be big or famous, but maybe some people will find our game fun to watch and benefit from it. So you need to be ok with it. Before we dive into lore and character creation, I'll ask you to sign a release form to allow me to upload videos featuring you from our sessions (all the other players have signed this form - it is to protect both you and me in the future). We speak English. I'm not a native speaker, and I don't do accents very well. But I do have excellent English. The sessions will be in English. You need to be able to speak it well. Accents are fine :) Please do not include IRL politics or agendas during sessions - These motifs are ok and might be present if they are relevant to what's going on in the session (i.e, Slavery or the Spanish Inquisition if we face a similar situation - you can use philosophical ideas obviously) - But try not to insert IRL events happening now or in recent years if possible. Age groups - around 30 or above, please Ensure you schedule a time for the session. This is important, as we've had people cancel frequently, leading to canceled sessions that significantly hinder story progression and immersion. Unforeseen shit can happen, of course, but please, if you apply, make sure you can commit to being available for the sessions each week. About the world: We'll be playing in a world called Alver on the continent of Kronland. This is a heavily Nordic-inspired world. Imagine what the late Middle Ages and Renaissance in Europe would have looked and felt like if the Vikings had become the dominant influence rather than Christianity. At the same time, there would still be distinct kingdoms with their own cultures, fashions, and styles. Norse mythology is deeply ingrained in the world.  The lore is inspired by Nordic mythology, but it is NOT Nordic mythology. It's a full-on pantheon and history I created. Some stuff will align and match, but much will not.  The continent is vast, and thus, the distance between cities, villages, and civilizations is such that the world varies greatly, from areas with rare magic and supernatural elements to cosmopolitan cities with mixed races, magic, and wonder. The game is designed to strike a balance between drama, grim humor, and epic adventure. It's not just grimdark or silly - it'll be a mix of all. You'll start small in scope, but the story is meant to go epic by the end.  There are five playable races (with some having sub-races), which I'll share the details of later, but these are the closest "D&D" races to them in racial traits: Menskr: Humans + Vel (homebrew variant human - with some innate self-magical potential) Kettir: Homebrew Tabaxi Hedlinari: Homebrew mix between Dwarfs/Gnomes/Halfings Graari: Homebrew Goliath (with horns! lol) Mal-Siva: Homebrew Aasimar (The only race that can use "real" magic classes like Wizards or Warlocks in my world) Closing words: That's it. If you read all the way here, my respect! I hope we can have a fun, friendly group to play with, grow together, and have emotional support when needed (lol). Feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

A flying city of portals, the City of Doors has closed. The gods have decreed that The Reckoning has come and the Material Plane's time is over. All that is left now is the Endlands, immeasurable leagues of sunless wastes, fled by all who can escape to the Outer Planes. But something else moves in the shadows. Might there be something worse than the end of the Material Plane after all? In this mash-up of Planescape and Stephen King's Dark Tower epic, you will explore a reality moving on, discover the secrets of its creation, and decide its fate once and for all. Your heroes have come together from across D&D's time and space to a land of sunless light, unpredictable magic, and guns. Lots of guns. Let's hope you're quick on the draw. Built for players who are comfortable with 5e and excited for a twist on its core rules, Spireward Bound follows a semi-episodic structure. Every few sessions, your characters are confronted with a new, exciting situation on your journey, each of which is designed for open-ended adventure. Our adventure is well underway, but there's room at the fireside for more travelers! Our Tarot Hunters are now about halfway through their quest to the Spire, coming to believe they have to save all of creation from the hunger of the Crimson King. They have just taken the very first steps in pursuit of the Justice Tarot...

Serpents Skull Book 1 5E Conversion

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
I'll be running a standalone 5E conversion of book 1 of Pathfinders Serpent's Skull campaign this Saturday (03/10/26) and am looking for 1 more player to join the campaign. We're all in our thirties and I'm an experienced DM with 15+ years behind me. Serpent's Skull is a Pathfinder campaign, and as such, we'll purely be using the 5E system for mechanics/gameplay. World lore, locations, deities etc will all be Pathfinder related, so knowledge of the Pathfinder setting is preferred, but anyone interested in learning about and eager to throw themselves into the setting will be equally considered. Who this game is for: - Serious and passionate players who can commit to the full campaign length (roughly a year) - Reliable players who will turn up every session: This is a campaign which requires everyone to be present, so any players unable to attend means the campaign will need to be put on hold until the next session. If you can't make the odd session, please just give me as much notice as possible in advance, to not let myself and the rest of the players down. Emergencies happen, so I understand there may be times where this isn't possible. - High effort roleplayers with fun and interesting character concepts. - People who have never played this Adventure before. - People who are happy to talk about the game between sessions (if necessary). - People who prefer lasting friendships & don't just immediately leave after the game is over. As a group, we like to chill for about 10 minutes before games, and usually have a little chat once the game has ended. We're currently on British Summer Time in the UK, which is GMT+1, so this is likely more suited to those of you in the UK and European regions. The actual time of play is to be decided as a group, but my sessions run for 3-4 hours, and we'll be playing Saturdays from 12pm GMT+1, fortnightly. To build a character for this adventure, you'll need to read the Serpent's Skull Player's Guide, and while it doesn't list every Race, Class and Archetype, it'll give you a really good feel for the adventure, which starts on a Merchant Vessel headed for the Mwangi Expanse. Character concepts should mostly favour adventurers, explorers, pirates & swashbuckler's. Several of the starting ports are in the Shackles - the pirate region of Golarion, though you could have boarded in Varisia or any other place listed in the player's guide. I'll need time to convert your character ideas from Pathfinder to 5E. That said, this is a unique opportunity to create concepts you wouldn't normally have the chance to play, as I'm more than happy to create custom subclasses based on interesting concepts. Once you've read the players guide and have a few ideas in mind, please fill in this form. It tells you everything else you'll need to know. If this sounds good to you, I'm looking forward to seeing your submissions and hope to see you in my game!
