Description

Hello! As a long-time CoC/Spire/Heart GM who's recently gotten into the OSR scene by way of Shadowdark, join me as I learn to run Dolmenwood! 5 of us will run a session 0, and a ~15 session mini-campaign starting from Level 1. We'll play biweekly by way of Discord and Fantasy Grounds. This is a free-to-play, beginner-friendly game, and we're looking for 1-2 more players. I want to run a player-driven game, where the plot beats primarily come from your character motivations that push you to explore the wild places, unravel the secrets of deep magic, and perhaps journey along fairy-roads. The game will lean towards a LOtR Two-Towers vibe, with touches of The Wicker Man (1973) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Our game will focus on organic exploration through hexcrawl and faction interplay, as the secrets of the world and long-held grudges unfold around the players. Session 0 will hopefully be Monday, Mar 16th, 17:00 to 21:00 GMT (12:00-4:00 PM EST). Send me a DM to discuss! What's Dolmenwood? A fantasy setting steeped in folklore and fae, built around the Old School Essentials rules, blending the dark and whimsical, the wonderous and weird. Dolmenwood is a system and a setting, both of which tend toward strong character relationships with the world, and the holy, arcane, or fae magics that pervade the layered histories there.
  • The setting blends inspiration from Tolkien, Dunsany, Machen, folk-horror, and political intrigue of lords and ladies in high-courts.
  • Play as proud, goat-headed Breggle, a starry-eyed elf stepped straight from Fairy, a tricksome grimalkin cat-fairy, a worldly or hapless human, a fungus-riddled Mossling, or a capricious, bat-faced Woodgrue.
  • Choose from nine classes: the charming bard, ardent cleric, willful enchanter, dashing fighter, jolly friar, stealthy hunter, haughty knight, enigmatic magician, or wily thief.
  • Dolmenwood offers us classic dungeon crawls powered by random encounters and flavorful puzzles, and if we progress, engaging hexcrawling and settlements.
Table Expectations I love roleplay focused games, where character relationships unfold between PCs, NPCs, and the environment. For me, the roleplay environment works best when everyone has some commitment to the theme and tone. There's always room for above the table jokes and conversation, but I hope you'll feel comfortable embodying your character during gameplay as the story progresses. The OSE system has many rule differences from games I and many players are used to, and as such, players need to be gracious as we all learn the system. Our table will be best suited for players interested in telling stories built on strong character motivation and a genuine curiosity about the setting of Dolmenwood as presented through gameplay. We will be an adult table, respectful, jovial, and LGBTQ+ friendly.

"You remember our venerable house, opulent and imperial. It is a festering abomination! I beg you. Return home; claim your birthright, and deliver our family from the ravenous, clutching shadows of the Darkest Dungeon." Hi everyone I'm looking for 4-6 players for a Darkest Dungeon themed old school D&D campaign. I'll be running it through Old School Essentials (A repackaging of Basic/Expert D&D) with some fairly heavy homebrewing to make it fit the source material (Stress, Quirks, Unique Heroes) It should be fairly accessible to anyone, regardless of your experience with D&D or old school play. The overall focus will be on delving the dungeons of the region, recovering artefacts, amassing wealth and getting powerful enough to finally defeat the evil deep beneath the manor. Currently looking at Sunday 6pm CET / 12pm EDT with some room for flexibility based on replies. Play will be on Discord. Open to any enjoyer of Darkest Dungeon, regardless of experience. Drop me a DM if you're interested and tell me who your favourite hero is. I look forward to hearing from you!

He has places faithful companions, witches warlocks and other creatures of darkness across the land taking over piece by piece. He has actually captured you and placed you in custody of the mayor of pennytown of Holloe Woods. There you are blindfooted and shackled and placed into a cell where you have no clue where you are.  This is a first edition Pathfinder game and which Pathfinder rules apply. Character creation is up to how you want it to be done as long as it's first edition Pathfinder. You can create your own race or pick a humanoid creature from the beastiaries as long as you create the race itself using the generator. For more questions on building your race please DM me.  Seeking up to no more than eight players we will be playing in telegram. Group plays will be 11:00 AM Central Chicago Time on Tuesday and Saturdays. Free posting through the week for individual missions and downtimes. This is a texting campaign. Commitment is key. Weekdays only, a group decides on day & time Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) Will be played in Discord voice chat, "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT) My Discord (weebseatshit) *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's an RP-focused, Forgotten Realms based, custom (homebrew) campaign with an emphasis on story, characters & adventures Ratio: 40 Roleplay/40 Exploration/20 Combat Starting level is 1, standard array for abilities Spells become cantrips, you can cast them without components or GP Some spells that affect game's balance & world, may be forbidden. It'll be discussed Instead of HP you have healthbars, & you don't know how big are your enemies healthbars Healthbars are rather "cinematic". Depending from how much dmg you receive, i'll adjust your condition. But in general: 6 HP: Sorcerer, Wizard 8 HP: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Monk, Rogue, Warlock 10 HP: Fighter, Paladin, Ranger 12 HP: Barbarian Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) Artificer & Psion aren't allowed I'll describe locations & looks with little to no detail Just like with the books, i'd prefer that every player imagined their own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore) A tystling is similar to a cat Monochrome darkvision Enhanced senses: smell, hearing, vision, touch & balance Soft step: walking is almost noiseless (unless a tystling has something noisy on), running is slightly quieter comparing to other races A tystling is shorter than an elf, but taller than a dwarf A tystling is slim like an elf, but lighter than an elf, with smaller muscles. That makes a tystling even more agile & dexterous than an elf, but it's very hard for a tystling to lift or carry medium heavy things
