Description

`` Ahoy Mateys!  This here is a job offer. One promising adventure on a sandbox island filled with excitement and danger! 'A scurvy-ridden, rules light, art heavy tabletop RPG. Inspired by history, fantasy, horror and rum. Your cutlass & flintlock won’t save you from the hordes of skeletons, the Kraken, or even your own crew. This game is about being a greedy, filthy, scoundrel. Find a ship. Recruit some crew. Raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer your weasley black guts out. Get a bigger ship. Kill some things. Upgrade your ship. Sneak into a fort. Raid a port. Acquire treasure. Bury said treasure. Become infamous. Search for someone else’s treasure. Flee in terror from unfathomable creatures from the deep. Drink all of the rum. Die on the high seas. Roll a new character and do it all again.' PIRATE BORG is a self-contained rules-light RPG for running swashbuckling campaigns. Character creation is optimized for random generation (though not required), and during combat all rolls are made by the players: enemies don’t roll to attack, instead PCs roll to defend. Pirate Borg is fun, easy to learn, potentially deadly, and perfect for OSR/NuSR style one-shots and for campaigns that focus more on player agency and smart decisions and less on character optimization and “what’s on my character sheet”. 🎲 RPG System: PIRATE BORG 🦜 🎭 Game Type: Short Campaign with the potential to expand out! 🧠 Genre/Style: Gritty, potential horror, although it leads to plenty of humour, purposeful or otherwise! 📅 Date & Time (with timezone!): TBD! ALTHOUGH I am GMT and potentially during the Weekdays! Session length depends on what players can do! 📍 Location: Online using a VTT! 👥 Max Players: 3-6 📜 Character Info: Starting level 1! Rolling characters are very much a part of Pirate Borg. Trust me, it's hilarious and brings ou🏴‍☠️t incredible characters! 🔞 Content Warnings / Age Restrictions (if any): 16+ Because it will be graphic (mostly in a cool way! and just general pirate themes of kidnapping, colonization, the likes. 📝 How to Apply: Potential format is in the thread although you can just DM! 💬 Misc. Details: Pirate Borg is a rules-lite, easy to learn system. It takes no time at all to figure out and have fun! Name (What you will like to be referred to as): Age Range: Time Zone: Availability: Experience (With Pirate Borg or any system!): Knowledge of Pirate Borg: Feelings on rolling a character: Favourite dnd/Fantasy monster: Thoughts on Pirate settings/characters:

Pirate Borg seeking 1-2 more players

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Greetings, scoundrels, thieves, rogues, and pirates. I'm running a short to medium length Pirate Borg campaign and looking for 1–2 more players to join the filthy ranks. You'll be thrown into a lethal sandbox in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, where war, undead horrors, occult forces, and general madness are dragging the world toward apocalypse. You won't be playing heroic do-gooders. You'll be desperate bastards with loaded pistols, questionable morals, and whatever ambitions you can keep alive long enough to pursue. There is no predetermined story you're expected to follow. Characters are randomly rolled, death is very much on the table, and what you do with the miserable life the dice give you is entirely up to you. Become a legendary pirate. Steal a ship. Hunt horrors for silver. Get filthy rich. Become an exotic undead drug kingpin. Start a war. Or simply try to survive the end of the world. I've already got three solid players, and we're setting sail next Monday. Sessions run weekly on Mondays at 7 PM PT for roughly 3–4 hours, using Foundry with Discord for voice. The crew is established and the game is happening, no weeks of session zeros or waiting around to get things off the ground. Pirate Borg is rules-light and easy to learn; no experience is required. Roll a character. Play next Monday. If you're interested, shoot me a DM with a little about yourself, why you want to join, and what you're hoping to get out of the game. We'll go from there. Bring rum. Bring powder. Bring a spare character.

"A real sense of a world and a story to explore" - current player review More reviews at https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmn29jth10031jy047qj8r5o0 Pick up your guns, and save the Material Plane! - Blast your way through a dying D&D weird west, with new firearm-themed magic items, spells, and subclasses - Fight an enigmatic cult, set on making the apocalypse even worse - Track down mysterious tarot cards and solve the puzzle of creation - Prevent (or abet!) an inter-planar jailbreak - Mind Flayer Train Heist Hear what Jacob the DM has to say about Spireward Bound at https://youtu.be/8lGXO76AeW8 At the centre of the Great Wheel lies the Material Plane, and at the centre of the Material Plane is Sigil. A flying city of portals, the City of Doors has closed. The gods have decreed that The Reckoning has come and the Material Plane's time is over. All that is left now is the Endlands, immeasurable leagues of sunless wastes, fled by all who can escape to the Outer Planes. But something else moves in the shadows. Might there be something worse than the end of the Material Plane after all? In this mash-up of Planescape and Stephen King's Dark Tower epic, you will explore a reality moving on, discover the secrets of its creation, and decide its fate once and for all. Your heroes have come together from across D&D's time and space to a land of sunless light, unpredictable magic, and guns. Lots of guns. Let's hope you're quick on the draw. Built for players who are comfortable with 5e and excited for a twist on its core rules, Spireward Bound follows a semi-episodic structure. Every few sessions, your characters are confronted with a new, exciting situation on your journey, each of which is designed for open-ended adventure. Our adventure is well underway, but there's room at the fireside for more travelers! Our Tarot Hunters are now about halfway through their quest to the Spire, coming to believe they have to save all of creation from the hunger of the Crimson King. They have just taken the very first steps in pursuit of the Justice Tarot...
