Description

Good day everyone, I am seeking some players for a Chronicles game based on a small fictional island in the UK. The Premise The game will be set in a remote and eccentric university in 1946 England, where the players will be attending. They will start the game as regular mortals and will be exposed to various oddities and strangeness on the isle, putting them in contact with various occult based groups. Eventually this may lead to the players learning magic in a system similar to WoD Sorcerers as they delve deeper into the magic and mysteries of the strange land they now study in. The Time There no specific time set for the game, but I am planning for it to be around 18:00 GMT on Tuesdays, weekly. I am however very open to working with my players to figure out a time that works for everyone. How to Contact If this post interests you please shoot me a message here or on Discord so we can chat and see if you’re a good fit for the game. Can’t wait to hear from you all :)

Do you feel sensations that you can't explain? Have you seen things that no one else seemed to notice? Have you had strange experiences that are difficult to talk about? We're here to listen The Frederick Anomalous Experiences Support Group is a confidential peer-support group for people who have experienced unusual or unexplained events in and around the Frederick, Maryland Area No judgment. No diagnosis. No explanations required. Meetings are free and confidential. Whatever is happening to you, you don't have to deal with it alone. Please reach out to Dr. Branden L. Mulligan to see about meeting times and places ------------------------------------------------------- What is ‘7-Years Bad Luck’? ‘7-Years Bad Luck’ is a Chronicle of Darkness Game designed to evolve as players play. You begin as ordinary people living in and around the Frederick area. You have all experienced weird phenomena that you can't explain and found others who have experienced similar things. Together, you are members of a small, mostly online support group where you can talk about the things no one else would believe and reassure one another that you're not going crazy. What to expect from the game? This is a character-focused game where relationships, friendships, trust, conflict, and the connections between characters matter. The story begins as a horror-thriller built around a slowly unraveling mystery. As you discover what's actually happening, those revelations may change the game's direction, its genre, and even your character. Your decisions matter, particularly early in the story. There isn't a single predetermined path through the campaign. How your character responds to what happens can open entirely different possibilities, and even death doesn't necessarily end a character's story. Expect mystery, horror, interpersonal drama, difficult decisions, strange situations, and plenty of opportunities simply to let your characters be people. What can I play? Your character can be almost any ordinary human living in or around the Frederick area. More information will follow, but they should have a life: friends, family, relationships, ambitions, mistakes, hobbies, a career, things they care about in this world. Most importantly, they should be someone you'd enjoy getting to know and playing as their life becomes. Your character begins generally unaware of the supernatural world. Occult knowledge is perfectly fine, but at the beginning it consists of things like folklore, urban legends, conspiracy theories, religious traditions, or paranormal beliefs rather than knowledge that monsters are actually real. Supernatural merits are not acceptable at character creation When and where is the game being held? Tuesdays, online through Discord

Weekdays only, a group decides on day & time Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) Will be played in Discord voice chat, "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT) My Discord (weebseatshit) *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's an RP-focused, Forgotten Realms based, custom (homebrew) campaign with an emphasis on story, characters & adventures Ratio: 40 Roleplay/40 Exploration/20 Combat Starting level is 1, standard array for abilities Spells become cantrips, you can cast them without components or GP Some spells that affect game's balance & world, may be forbidden. It'll be discussed Instead of HP you have healthbars, & you don't know how big are your enemies healthbars Healthbars are rather "cinematic". Depending from how much dmg you receive, i'll adjust your condition. But in general: 6 HP: Sorcerer, Wizard 8 HP: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Monk, Rogue, Warlock 10 HP: Fighter, Paladin, Ranger 12 HP: Barbarian Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) Artificer & Psion aren't allowed I'll describe locations & looks with little to no detail Just like with the books, i'd prefer that every player imagined their own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore) A tystling is similar to a cat Monochrome darkvision Enhanced senses: smell, hearing, vision, touch & balance Soft step: walking is almost noiseless (unless a tystling has something noisy on), running is slightly quieter comparing to other races A tystling is shorter than an elf, but taller than a dwarf A tystling is slim like an elf, but lighter than an elf, with smaller muscles. That makes a tystling even more agile & dexterous than an elf, but it's very hard for a tystling to lift or carry medium heavy things
