Campaign Premise
In the deepest parts of the Internet exist artificial creatures made of data known as the Data Beasts. There are twelve Data Beasts that roam freely throughout cyberspace, serving as protectors of both the digital world and the real world.
One day, a hostile artificial intelligence known as X.A.N.A. began wreaking havoc by infecting technology across the globe. The Data Beasts attempted to stop X.A.N.A., but by the end of the battle, X.A.N.A.'s code had been scattered throughout the Internet, along with five of the twelve Data Beasts.
The remaining Data Beasts set out to locate their missing allies and destroy the scattered fragments of X.A.N.A. before it could return. However, a being created from X.A.N.A.'s corrupted code, known as Vlax, began causing chaos in the human world by creating robotic monsters infused with X.A.N.A.'s power.
Unable to directly combat this threat in the real world, the Data Beasts searched for partners among humanity. Eventually, they found five teenagers and formed bonds with them. Using devices known as Gridwatches, the teenagers are able to transform into the Power Rangers Data Squad and fight alongside their Data Beast partners.
Though they come from different backgrounds, the Rangers must learn to work together with one another and their Data Beasts to stop Vlax, destroy X.A.N.A.'s remaining fragments, and protect both the real world and cyberspace.
