Description

In the Reaches of Altharion, your soul is touched by a spark of destiny. Some call it a blessing, others a curse. We call it your Starting Grace. We are a server built on a simple philosophy: you should play the hero you envision, at the peak of their power. This is a world designed to make that fantasy a reality, from your first steps to your final, world-shaking battle. What Awaits You in Altharion? A Home for All Adventurers: Whether you're a veteran optimizer looking for deep mechanical mastery or a newcomer taking your first steps in TTRPGs, Altharion can be your home. Our systems empower veteran players to achieve new heights, while never forcing complexity on newcomers, who are free to learn and grow at their own pace. A Legend, Forged From Level 1: Your journey begins with a Starting Grace—a unique, potent blessing that defies vanilla conventions. Share your Hunter's Mark with allies using "Warlord's Banner", or become a true tank with "Martyr's Vow" to shoulder your party's pain. This is your chance to play builds you thought were impossible. A World of Deep, Custom Mechanics: We've woven a tapestry of homebrew systems that go beyond the standard rules. Master crafting systems, collect custom items, and found or join Guilds that provide powerful, permanent buffs to all members. Your path to greatness is paved with meaningful choices. All of this, Automated: We are using an amazing custom website called WestMarches.Games to fuel our games, as well as an automatic calculator for quest rewards. No more need to hassle over which characters gets how much XP or Gold, so you can focus on playing or running your adventure! The Ultimate Endgame: Reaching level 20 is not the end - it's just the beginning of your true challenge. Gather the server's most legendary heroes to face bespoke, preset World Bosses. These are not mere monsters; they are forces of nature, elder gods, and world-ending calamities. Defeat them to earn unique legendary items, powerful boons and shape the world for future heroes. If you are ready to play the best version of your character... your legend begins now. Discord: Log in to view

Hollows of Iparea

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hollows of Iparea [Text-based] Pitch: You have arrived on a dying planet with no recollection of how you got there. Something is terribly wrong, that much is certain, and worse yet, the planet itself appears to be living. Thralls of an unintelligible hive mind are the only remnants of intelligent life to be seen, and you see echoes of past civilizations in abandon everywhere around you. Your crashed vessel and memories offer no help, and whatever happened here, your survival may depend on a species you cannot understand. System: 5e legacy Tools: Discord, Owlbear Rodeo (VTT). This is a text campaign, you do not need a mic. D&DBeyond sheets are preferred but any others are allowed. Schedule: Fridays, 5 PM - 7 PM EST. Seats: 6 Expectations Game: Players of all experience levels are allowed, but I ask that beginners have a basic understanding of the game's mechanics and know how to create a character beforehand. My DMs are always open for any questions, comments, or concerns about the game. I ask that players don't use AI for responses or for character art. Flying races and Warforged (they don't exist in the setting) are banned. Rudimentary firearms are a thing, and gunslingers are allowed, but modern firearms and technology do not exist. Homebrew is not allowed for classes, and any other homebrew must be run by me. UA and official WotC material is, of course, allowed. 18+ is preferred, and this game is strictly 16+. Characters start at 5th level. Themes: In a nutshell: semi-sci-fi, high fantasy/cosmic horror. This game's overall themes revolve around memory, identity, and isolation. This game also involves elements of survival horror, and resources will be tracked (and scarce). Tone: Overall surreal, bleak, and atmospheric. Safety Tools: TTRPG Safety Checklist & pre-game interview. You can reach out to me at @paws4reason on Discord.

Of Fey & Physics | Child to Elder Campaign

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Soar the skies with orcish dragon riders, brave the seas which are themselves water elementals, learn to pierce the veil between the Feywild and the Material Plane, and uncover the secrets that intertwine the most ancient beings on the planet! This epic campaign spans decades, seeing our party grow from children sharing a wondrous summer together to elders completing lifelong missions in a world shaped by their actions. Expect a rich role-playing experience filled with both heartwarming comforts and thrilling dangers. A story told through renaissance paintings and hand crafted maps packed full of secrets and wonders. I used my 20 years of video game design experience to build a custom VTT specifically for this campaign. Give it a shot, I promise I'll blow your mind! Runial (Homebrew)

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
The campaign takes place on a homebrew world called Runial. The civilizations that inhabit it are: Civils, the alliance of demi humans such as humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, orcs, goblins, and any other manner of humanoid beings. Ferals, which are more animal than humanoid, anthropomorphic creatures made up of any animal species you can imagine. Pseudofauna, which are a mix of demi human and some animal trait. Examples of this include holstaur, winged humans, merpeople and so on. They're distrusted by both Civil and Feral societies though are free to dwell within either albeit with some difficulties. Otherworlders, mysterious beings with special powers that are resistant to Runian natives. They can be any Runian race, although none of them arrive with memories of how they came to be. Civilization for the most part on Runial can be compared to the 1800s. The most advanced parts of the world have access to basic amenities such as rudimentary plumbing and electricity. Weaponry has advanced up to single action revolvers and lever action rifles. Runial in recent times has been plagued by a mysterious weather phenomenon known as the Aetherwind, a warm gentle breeze that rises from the ground, bringing with it motes of multicolored orbs of mana that float gently towards the sky. Any living thing caught in the Aetherwind is quickly and horribly mutated, rarely surviving the process. Alongside the appearance of the Aetherwind came the arrival of beings known as Otherworlders, people with special abilities that boast high resistance to attacks from Runian natives, making them difficult to combat without extreme measures. The Aetherwind began at the most northern point of Runial and over time has crept slowly to the south, pushing the Civil races down towards Feral territories. Ferals, in an attempt to retain their lands, have declared a defensive war on Civils to prevent their encroachment and Civils, desperate to escape the Aetherwind, grab what land they can to survive. The Aetherwind can also appear in random pockets anywhere on Runial, making nowhere truly safe. You are an adventurer that has woken up in an alien looking laboratory with no memories of who you once were or what has been done to you. After a narrow escape, you're now looking for answers alongside others that have also escaped the facility. Note: The game has themes of violence and is somewhat dark in nature without becoming too edgy. I do not focus on overtly sexual themes. We are partially on the second act of the campaign and are looking for 2 additional players for a long term commitment. I prefer newer players and don't mind teaching them, but veterans are ok too. My campaign has some homebrew and mixed elements. I DO use generative AI in creation of character images and some tokens in Foundry. I do NOT use AI in any part of my worldbuilding, character creation, or story progression. The session will take place over Discord mostly through text and voice, but for some sequences such as combat Foundry will be used. If this info dump was enough to entice you, feel free to message me!
